Actor George Furth Dies

Broadway actor/director George Furth has died. He was 75.
Furth passed away at a hospital in Santa Monica, California on Monday, his agent Dennis Aspland has confirmed.
The cause of death has yet to be announced as WENN went to press.
Furth is known for writing the book for the innovative Stephen Sondheim musical Company, which won him a Tony award.
He began his career as an actor, appearing on Broadway in 1961's A Cook for Mr. General and the Judy Holliday musical "Hot Spot" in 1963.
As a playwright, Furth had several solo Broadway productions, most notably Twigs in 1971.
He also wrote the book for the John Kander-Fred Ebb musical The Act starring Liza Minnelli in 1977 and two other plays, 1981's The Supporting Cast and Precious Sons in 1986.
Furth also acted in movies including 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Myra Breckenridge which was released in 1970, as well as appearing in countless TV comedies.
He had no immediate survivors.
Monkeedevotees will forever remember Furth as the snobbish, rich boyfriend Ronnie Farnsworth in Monkees Episode No. 13, "One Man Shy" (a.k.a. "Peter And The Debutante") and as the swindling nephew
Henry Weatherspoon in Episode No. 43, "A Coffin Too Frequent."
